Last week I had the privilege of attending one of the most amazing events, Le Diner en Blanc in New York City.
Le Diner en Blanc was started in Paris by Francois Pasquier over 25 years ago and what started out as a small experience has turned into a world phenomenon. As I sit here trying to describe the evening through words, I realize how hard it is because until you attend the event you can’t imagine that a team can pull off hosting a diner to 4,000 people and keep it secret until an hour before it starts. But somehow they manage every year in multiple cities around the world.
And of course in true New York Fashion the guests came in full white attire using their creative ability to design show stopping outfits. Besides the delicious food provided by Todd English this year, guests are entertained throughout the night with musical performances that include opera singers, a violinist and DJ. The entire time you are there you find yourself constantly looking around because you don’t want to miss a thing.
If you can manage to score an invite, I strongly suggest it at one point in your life. In a world where everything has been done and nothing really surprises us this is one thing that I am sure you haven’t seen and will remember for a lifetime.
BON APPETIT!!!
